The introduction of invasive species is a major threat to the conservation of native species and ecosystems in general. Freshwater systems are especially vulnerable to this threat. In addition to their greater fragility, freshwater systems, are particularly disturbed by these introductions. For this reason, it has launched a media campaign to prevent the introduction of the zebra mussel and new species of decapods or exotic turtles, among other invasive species in the basins of Ter, Fluvià and Muga, which could penetrate in sites of Community importance that shape the scope of the project Potamo Fauna, directly affecting target species of this project.

On the one hand, it has published a leaflet and posters and has been located in points where the release of this type of fauna can be likely. And also, in the begging of summer months are held several talks with specific groups that have a role in prevention as tourism companies that work with fishing and navigation, fishing boat skippers and development information work in fishing contests and competitions. This year a talk with fishing section of the Grup Excursionista i Esportiu Gironí (GEiEG) have been made, and various information tasks to XIVè popular canoe descent by Salt Ter (Memorial Francesc Ferrer and Gironès), also at the fishing competition in Sarrià de Ter (the event which brings together more fishermen in the Girona region, over 70) and also at the fishing competition in the Fair of Sant Narcís, with the participation of more than 50 fishermen.
