Miquel Campos made a presentation on "Conservation of Vertigo moulinsiana and Vertigo angustior population in Estany de Banyoles" in the framework of the activities organized in Banyoles during the World Wetlands Day

About fifty people attended on the 5th and 7th of February in various events organized by the Consorci de l’Estany, Limnos, the Associació de veïns de Corts and the Museu Darder, with the Project LIFE Potamo Fauna, on the occasion the World Wetlands Day (2 February). On this pretext, and in recent years, activities to promote the knowledge and study of natural and cultural heritage of these areas has been organized, as well as disseminating its values ​​and echoed the importance of their protection and conservation. The format of the activities are consolidated in recent years with a day of talks and a guided tour.

The day commemorates the signing of the Ramsar Convention for the protection of these ecosystems signed on 2 February 1971. The Banyoles lake is designated as a Wetland of International Importance since 18 December 2002.

Under the LIFE Potamo Fauna, the financial coordinator of the project and coordinator of the Consorci de l’Estany, Miquel Campos, presented the paper "Conservation of Vertigo moulinsianaand  Vertigo angustior (Gastropoda, Pulmonata) in Banyoles Lakes". The series of talks took place on February 5 in the evening, which also presented two papers more "Census of wintering birds at the Banyoles lake" by Carles Feo, a member of Limnos; and "Study on the evolution of the presence of gulls on the lake" Natalia Sardeña, environmentalist. In addition, a space in the same place, offered teh possibility for presentations of research work undertaken by students during the academic year 2014-2015 in the Consorci de l’Estany.

On Sunday February 7th a guided tour took place along the new road that follows the Matamors creek from Camós to Corts. It was attended by about thirty people, despite the rain.
