The project Potamo Fauna has participated in several national and European conferences and congresses
In the beginning of summer, the technical coordinator of LIFE Potamo Fauna, Quim Pou, has done several talks and poster presentations at various conferences and congresses.
On June the 20th he went to Budapest where he gave a talk in a training program Capacity Building LIFE (LIFE14 CAP/HW/000010) to the Ministry of Agriculture, which was attended by 60 Hungarians technicians. Quim Pou presented the project Potamo Fauna, the actions that are carried out, and also spoke on the same target species and the expected results. That’s because in the period 2014/2020 Hungary has been awarded with a LIFE of the new category "Technical Assistance Project" aimed at governments and agents that have historically had little success in getting LIFE.
In the other hand, from June the 21st to June the 24, Quim Pou presented three posters in the framework of the VI Iberian Congress of Ichthyology held in Murcia organized by the Iberian Society of Ichthyology (SIBIC). Moreover, Pou also made a brief presentation on the project led by the Consorci de l’Estany, and participated in a specific discussion session focused on LIFEs and fish. This took place on June the 22nd with the participation of nine LIFE projects. The aim of this meeting was to bring together the beneficiaries of the LIFE program to discuss aspects of their projects aimed at the restoration of fish and aquatic systems.
Finally, in the framework of the XVIII Congress of the Iberian Association of Limnology that took place in Tortosa from July the 4th to July the 8th, two posters related to the project were presented. The conference is organized by the Iberian Association of Limnology (AIL) and the Institute for Research and Technology (IRTA) of the Generalitat of Catalunya. The theme is "Water is Life" and it seeks to promote a multidisciplinary approach and innovative limnology, which allows to integrate the advances made in various fields of knowledge of basic disciplines such as ecology, physiology, chemistry, physics, hydrology and geomorphology, among many others; undergoing analysis and debate took place in the second most important wetland in the western Mediterranean.
