D.10 – Study of the socio-economic impact of the project
A project of this magnitude necessarily has a significant impact on the economy and the local population, and even more when they are involved in different natural areas that cover an area of 89,728.22 hectares, and an approximate population in the area of influence of around 400,000 inhabitants, which would have the added step of tourists.
A study on ecosystem goods and services will be done, mainly in the various project activities that influence directly or indirectly. The influence of the project on the economy and the local population will also be studied. We distinguish between services provisioning, regulating, cultural services and support. These goods and services from field work will be analyzed, thorough interviews with stakeholders, data collection and evaluative information (quantitative and qualitative). These will be specified at the beginning of the action and grouped into:
The study drawn up following phases: a) description and diagnosis of each ecosystem directly influenced by the project; b) analysis and detail of each of the goods and ecosystem services; c) valuation of goods and services, and the same changes as a result of the project; d) analysis of impacts and threats, and how to mitigate the actions of the project; e) determining the status of the goods and services of different ecosystems influenced directly by the project.
This study aims to assess the consequences for human welfare, changes in ecosystems, clearly exposing the data and results obtained during execution. In short, we want to get a set of conclusions that provide information to improve the sustainable use of ecosystems in the project.
