D.9 – Monitoring the ecological and water quality
The monitoring of the ecological and water quality is to establish a network of sampling points where physicochemical data (temperature, oxygen, ph ...) and biological data (aquatic macroinvertebrates) will be taken, to assess the ecological and water quality.
The network includes sampling points within each of the 7 LIC areas (see action C1) where we carry out reinforcements of naiads. More specifically, and as some of these areas are very extensive, this track will be effected in specific sectors where these reinforcements will be done. It is very important to know the quality of the water and keep their status for the duration of the project so that the changes may not be an impediment to the success of conservation actions planned. If any incidents are detected, they will be communicated to the competent authority (Catalan Water Agency) and appropriate action will be taken.
The data on water quality will at least be done every semester according to the results obtained during the first year.
